Dr. Amber Williams is a nationally recognized higher education executive, author, and strategic advisor dedicated to building ecosystems where human potential and institutional excellence converge. As the founder of Williams Cultivation Strategy, she partners with university executives, system leaders, and mission-driven organizations to design scalable frameworks centered on belonging, talent development, and sustainable student flourishing.

Dr. Williams currently serves as the Senior Vice Provost for Student Success and Chief Honors Officer at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Since stepping into executive leadership at UT in 2020, she has spearheaded enterprise-wide, strengths-based transformations that connect academic preparation directly with well-being and career readiness. Under her leadership, the university has achieved historic gains, including driving first-year retention to a record 93.1 percent and elevating the four-year graduation rate to 71.4 percent.

Her executive portfolio includes architecting the New Vol Experience, establishing cross-functional Vol Success Teams, re-designing honors education and developing programs to support academic achievement for scholars at scale. Prior to her tenure at UT, Dr. Williams served as a senior enrollment leader at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she founded the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy and enrolled the largest, most academically accomplished class in the university's history.

A frequent keynote speaker and contributor on student persistence and leadership culture, Dr. Williams has been featured across national platforms including Gallup's Leading with Strengths, Inside Higher Ed, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Higher Education Digest.
